Teeth cleaning for your pet is NOW available!

Why clean your pet's teeth?
Bacterial biofilm coats the teeth daily, calcifying into hundreds of layers of microscopically thin bacterial concrete, known as plaque. These bacteria cause stinky breath, inflammation, infection, periodontal disease, bone recession and destruction. Gingivitis and bone loss result in painful loose teeth. PLUS... Bacteria can enter the bloodstream through inflamed gums causing damage elsewhere in the body, including heart valves, livers and kidneys, amongst other places.

Keep your furry friend (and your pocketbook) happy and healthy.

Spay and Neuter Services

FHS offers many low-cost spay and neuter services. Ensuring that all animals are spayed and neutered is a focus on ours, as this is the only real way to reduce the pet overpopulation crisis across the country. There are simply not enough good loving homes for all those who need one.

There are many health reason to spay/neuter your pet. Spaying helps prevent uterine infections and mammary tumors, which are malignant or cancerous in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats. Spaying your pet before her first heat offers the best protection from these diseases. Neutering your male companion prevents testicular cancer and some prostate problems. Spay and Neuter Services

vet tech1 Spaying a female dog also eliminates the messiness associated with the heat cycle. Neutering of male dogs and cats can prevent certain undesirable sexual behaviors, such as urine marking, humping, male aggression and the urge to roam.

Flagler County residents who wish to have their pets spay/neutered at a private veterinary practice of their choice may apply to receive a $25 rebate from the County.
